I trade longer term mechanical trading systems exclusively on the ASX. I rarely look at daily charts and the systems are built using weekly timeframes. The information in this site is based on actual trades in real portfolios. I don't trade using margin or any sort of leverage. I mainly use Amibroker for system testing and trade monitoring. I am not selling anything. This is just a journal to record where I have been and, just maybe, where I am going.

Hi Mate
Thanks for the Blog.
Well done on your year. . . break even on realised profits and 16% o nunrealised is a pretty good effort
Cheers Banjo
Hi!
Your blog is very well done.. Congratulations. Lots of robustness tests... QUESTION: you obviousely do some kind of trend following. Could you describe your system in more detail please?
Many thankx,
Florian.

Sorry to be so slow in responding. I trade a system based on weekly timeframes and basically look for strength - nothing all that clever. Exits are just a trailing stop. I have played with profit taking exits I really haven't found anything that was any better than a fairly simple trailing exit.
There are probably heaps of system builders that have developed something similar.

Stevo:
thank you for your explanation. So strength = the biggest 52 week winners? Weakness= worst 52 week loosers?
I think the way how you do the backtesting is actually quite sophisticated!
Florian.
